同一座城市里,关于钟表的表达正在变得更加丰富;

一边是 Watches and Wonders Geneva 所构成的主轴,品牌在这里集中呈现年度节奏,叙事被清晰地组织与放大;

Geneva remains the starting point every April.

People who care about watchmaking gather here again.
Brands release their latest pieces.

But if you step back for a moment, something feels different.

Things are no longer centered around a single place.

Across the same city, expressions of watchmaking have become more diverse.
Geneva today can no longer be defined by one single show.

On one side, Watches and Wonders Geneva forms the main axis.
Brands present their annual rhythm here, with narratives carefully structured and amplified.

Not far away, Time to Watches unfolds in a much more relaxed way.
It creates space for creators of different scales and stages to be seen directly.

They do not replace each other.
They exist in parallel, within the same timeframe.

And it is precisely in this parallel structure that the city begins to reveal a more complete picture of the industry.

Watches & Wonders: The Amplified Center

Watches and Wonders Geneva

Watches & Wonders

Watches and Wonders remains the clearest anchor point for the industry.

The 2026 edition continues to grow—more brands, a broader presence across the city, and greater public access. Geneva itself has become part of the experience.

But what stands out today is not just its scale. It’s how it operates.

It feels less like a trade show, and more like a carefully directed stage.
Products, brands, media, and space all work together within a single narrative system.

What gets attention—and how—is no longer accidental.

The inclusion of Behrens reflects this shift. As the first Chinese brand and only the second from Asia to enter the show, its presence says something about where the industry is looking. It signals a broader openness, but also a growing recognition of China’s role—both as a market and as a manufacturing base.

Watches and Wonders is no longer just about presenting watches.
It’s about shaping how watchmaking is seen.

A Different Rhythm in the Same City

Time to Watches

Académie Horlogère des Créateurs Indépendants(AHCI)

Step away from the main venue, and the atmosphere changes.

Time to Watches doesn’t try to fit into the same structure. It doesn’t need to.

It feels more like a gathering than a show.

Smaller rooms. Slower pace. Shorter distance between people.

There are fewer staged moments, and more ongoing conversations.

Brands and collectors meet directly, without much mediation.

You might come across a brand like CIGA Design here. No buildup, no elaborate framing—just the work itself. The connection often starts there.

In this setting, the watch comes before the story.

It brings things back to a more immediate kind of making. Not something polished and packaged, but something still taking shape.

And yet, this doesn’t stand in opposition to Watches and Wonders.

Both unfold at the same time, in the same city—just following different logics. One is structured and controlled. The other is open and fluid.

Beyond the Shows

Look a little further, and Geneva during this week extends well beyond these two formats.

Members of the Académie Horlogère des Créateurs Indépendants (AHCI) gather in a lakeside museum, continuing an exchange that has been going on for years. The setting is modest, but the conversations are not.

Elsewhere in the city, brands outside the Watches and Wonders system create their own spaces. Breitling, Jacob & Co., Bovet and Franck Muller host presentations in lakeside hotels or historic buildings, where meetings feel more private, and time moves differently.

Inside Watches and Wonders, meanwhile, everything is tightly scheduled.

The Fondation de la Haute Horlogerie (FHH) carefully structures media visits—presentations, walkthroughs, and transitions from one brand to another. Days are packed, and time is managed with precision.

The same week splits into different paths.

Some follow the schedule. Others move through the city, finding their own way between spaces.

There are more ways to experience it now. But the time itself remains the same.

To bring some coherence to all of this, the city has started framing the moment as “Geneva Watch Week.”

And yet, on the bridge across the lake, the banners still belong to the city—and to Watches and Wonders.

From a Moment to a Continuum

What’s happening in Geneva is not isolated.

Across the industry, time is no longer tied to a single event.

New formats and new locations are emerging, each offering a different way to engage.

Even so, Geneva remains a point of reference.

Not the only center—but still the one others relate to.

That’s why seeing Watches and Wonders and Time to Watches unfold side by side is so revealing. It’s not about two shows. It’s about how the industry is reorganizing itself.

Looking Back from Shenzhen

From a different vantage point—China—a parallel shift is taking shape.

China Watch & Clock Fair has long been rooted in manufacturing and supply chains. Today, it is evolving into China Watch Week & WINNOTIME.

This isn’t just a change in format. It reflects a different way of structuring things.

Instead of concentrating everything into a single event, the platform is opening up.

Brands at different stages, creators from different backgrounds, and conversations across design, production, and culture all begin to share the same space.

If Geneva shows what a mature system looks like, Shenzhen is exploring how something new can be built alongside it.

Not as a replacement. But as another way of organizing time.

Watching from In Between

This year, the WINNOTIME team will be in Geneva.

Not just to see the watches.

But to understand how different timelines coexist within the same city—and how each finds its place.

When an industry is shaped by more than one structure,

what matters is not just where the center is,

but how it connects to everything around it.

Time Moves On

In Geneva today, time doesn’t follow a single form.

It can be tightly structured. Or loosely unfolding.

It can be concentrated in one place. Or spread across many.

And beyond Geneva, the same shift is happening.

Different watch weeks, different spaces, different formats—each organizing time in its own way.

No single center defines it anymore. No single structure contains it.

And in between all of this, time continues to move.
